I like the posts people sometimes do with the bullet points and have wanted to do one of my own, so here goes! š
- I have no idea what “medium weight cotton faille” is, but I want it. Especially if it’s a border print, because it would make a seriously awesome dress.
- I have started and scrapped two different peeve posts, mostly because I don’t know how to say what I want to say.
- My sewing mojo seems to be visiting somewhere more interesting than here, but I’ve been scoping out fabric anyway.
- I’ve also been eyeing a new sewing machine.
- Which is completely wishful thinking–a new sewing machine is so far down the budget I think it was shoved off the paper.
- Am I the only person in the world that doesn’t really like fried chicken?
- They are seriously making another Fast & Furious movie?! WTF?!
- Also, I can’t decide whether I like this Cynthia Rowley pattern or not. I mean, the pic of the finished dress looks kind of pretty, but the line drawing is kind of…odd. I mean, is the cutout the same on the front and the back? And does something about the skirt portion seem odd to you? I can’t quite put my finger on what seems off about it…..
- I really want a Can-Am Spyder. Aren’t these just the cutest little things ever?
Anyway, I’m not sure what else to say. It’s supposed to snow here this weekend, so I should have a few hours of sewing, assuming I can calm myself enough to figure out what to make. My sewing interests have been so flighty and all over the map lately, I’m paralyzed with indecision or something. Anyone else have that?

I typically don’t love a-line skirts on me either, (seems odd that they stick out like they do, like a crime against nature or something) so I can understand your lack of desire to make one.
And yes, whenever I get that gut feeling that something isn’t going to work out, I typically struggle to get myself to finish it….happily, I am wrong once in a while. You might be too!

Agree! I have no idea what faille is either, but your linked fabric looks lovely, and perfect for spring, too.
Also agree that the Simplicity pattern is intriguing, though I think getting the lattice work at the chest/neck to lay flat might be a pain.

OhMyGosh!! Those little Morgans are absolutely too adorable!!! And yeah, I suspect that it might be tricky to keep those straps flat unless you are holding perfectly still, and who wants to do that?! š

I don’t like anything fried. Oil makes me feel ill.
I like the top of the Cynthia dress but drop waisted dresses are not my friend.

Oh I don’t have a problem with things being fried–most of my favorite food are (fried mushrooms, anyone?) I just don’t like fried chicken for some reason. Supposedly for people without much waist definition (of which I am one of) drop waists are flattering. I’m not sure if I believe this though….

I’m thinking that Cynthia Rowley could go 80’s cruise wear faster than I would like it to, but whatever faille is, I heartilly agreed that we need some. Lets spend the chicken budget on it.

My energy appears to be on vacation in Europe. I have lots of things I want to do, but practically no impulse to actually do them. And it’s in the minus digits here still. VERY depressing.

We’re getting some snow right now, and it’s been dark and foggy all day. I don’t mind the foggy and dark, but the snow/sleet grates on me. Moisture is moisture though, and after a long drought I’m doing my best not to whine.
And yes, perhaps both of our energies are vacationing together, because mine certainly isn’t here. I’m over-inspired, but can’t seem to settle down and just make something already.

*I agree about the Cynthia Rowley dress – the top portion is lovely, but I’ve never been a fan of dropped waist gathered skirts…maybe that’s what has you second-guessing it?
*My sewing mojo goes on vacations a lot too. It just did last month actually…and it’s currently on a short trip but I expect it to be back soon. Looking at fabric during these times seems to help me get back in the sewing mood too.

*Early onset sewing indecision is a chronic illness that I have learned to live with (hence a million UFOs in my sewing room.)

Ah yes, early onset sewing indecision, clearly I suffer from that affliction. š Maybe that’s what it is, I’m not a huge fan of gathered skirts, they tend to add bulk at the worst possible spot for me, though maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if it added it over my hips instead of my waist….I’ll let someone else give it a try first.

I feel ya on the flighty thing. I’m all over the map. I’ve been compensating with lots of ridiculously quick projects.
As for that pattern—I like it but I feel like the strappy bit is a little too thick, I think it would be nicer with just slightly thinner straps.

Yes, I do that too! Usually something like undies or a t-shirt. I’ve been picturing a cute dress in my head for several days though, maybe I should just go for it–the fabric is willing, but the pattern is undecided. š

Yep Mojo buggers off into the yonder and I do what many comments do too – read blogs, read magazines, go through magazines. Then it comes back and tis all good again. Don’t worry, these things go in cycles.

Yeah, I think it’s starting to come back, I started getting the pieces ready for a new project, but then March Madness sucked me in…it’s more fun to watch the games of teams from your own state, even if you aren’t generally a “fan”. š
Aren’t they cute? Though the link that Karin posted has something that’s too adorable for words, I want one of those little doodads too! š

Faille – I saw some at the Fashion Fabric Show (in silk), and experienced craving, but have no idea what I’d do with it. Spyder – like, if it would stop raining. Chicken – gimme curry over fried. Sewing machine – I read an interesting technique on The Sewing Forum called ‘reverse earning’, you make a list of all the things you’d like, don’t buy them, so saving enough for, for example, the sewing machine, see? Mojo – its here, but I’m pressed for time, so why am I internetting?, Film – it’ll bypass me, Peeve posts – I have too many to count in the planning. CR pattern, looks kind of busy, not necessarily in a good way.
