Old School Inspiration

We’ve got this new-ish channel that we’ve watched way too much of lately, it has all the old school shows like Bewitched, Columbo, Kojak, I Dream of Jeannie, Perry Mason…you get the idea. Side note: I’m totally hooked on Kojak, though I really wish it came on a little earlier in the evening. I’m hoping to talk hubby into a TiVo so that we can record it though, and as a bonus we could skip all the terrible commercials for pills, dog food, and catheters–you have no idea how sick I am of the catheter commercials!! 😡

Anyway, so this has kind of inspired me with different clothing styles. Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to find full pictures of some of the actual favorites I’ve discovered, so I’ve just been cruisin’ the net to find pictures of similar ones. They’re all going to this board on Pinterest if you’re interested. 🙂 There aren’t many yet, but I’m planning to add more.

Which television shows inspire your wardrobe? And what is it about Mary Tyler Moore’s pantsuits that I like so much?

I hope you all have a fantastic Easter! 🙂

  1. MTM’s pantsuits were a thing to behold. And she had a lot of them, as I recall.

What is it about catheter commericals? They advertise for that sorta thing on TV? Ewwww.

I have to say I don’t really use TV as inspiration cos I sew so slowly that any style trends or are well and truly passed. I’m kinda vintage without quite meaning to perhaps? Well, you know what I mean anyway LOL.

    • Yes, the pantsuits were a thing to behold. 🙂 And yes, on this particular channel they only seem to have about 10 commercials that they play over and over and over and over…. 😡 Grrr! But, we don’t have cable, and there’s nothing that appeals to us on the other network stations, so we deal. And you share my thoughts exactly about the catheter thing–it’s just not right!

    • I’m sure netflix has Kojak. 🙂 Some of Blair’s clothes look like stuff I would wear (though that’s only from a quick perusal of Google images–I’ve never seen the show, nor heard of it before your comment, LOL!) So I wouldn’t say that’s an awful secret. 🙂
